Community Policing and Community Relations (LE-G01)
PURPOSE OF COURSE: This 8-hour program has been designed to help Officers integrate Problem-Oriented Policing strategies into their daily activities.

COURSE OVERVIEW: The primary focus of the course will be to provide practical skills that the student can use in applying Community Policing strategies and engage in Community Relations.

COURSE GOALS: The goals of this course are to:

Define Community Policing.

Identify the concepts of POP as defined by Herman Goldstein.

Identify the role of POP in Community Policing.

Discuss other Community Policing Strategies.

Identify methods to improve Community Relations.

Discuss social media and other technological means for engaging with their community.

Discuss the importance of community outreach and education.
Problem-Oriented Policing (LE-G02)
